Hi, my name is Jessica. I’m an English tutor and today I want to talk with you
about using words that describe when something happened in the past or a long time ago.
Many English students when attempting to say something happened a
long time ago, they confuse this sentence and say “many time ago” I did this thing or that thing.
So, let’s go over an example sentence:
“A long time ago I used to love riding my bike
but I don’t like riding my bike as much now”.
So you don’t want to say many time ago I used to like riding my bike
but I don’t like writing it as much now.
Alright so you could say “a long time ago I lived in a small town
but now I live in a big city”.
So you could also say “a long time ago I traveled to Europe but now
I don’t travel very often’.
Alright, so I hope this has helped you with your pronunciation
of saying things have happened a long time ago.
So remember you can say something happened a long time ago but
you don’t want to say something happened many time ago.
I hope this lesson has been helpful for you and the to tune in
again for more lessons with Jessica.
