How to pronounce ‘Party’?

And today, I promise you, will not be another boring English lesson.
So, let’s talk about how to pronounce the word “party.”
A recent mistake that a few of my students have made,
is when they attempt to pronounce the word “party” they say “potty.”
Okay, this is a big problem.
So why is this a problem? When you say the word “party” you’re referring to a celebration as in a birthday party or a wedding party.
When you say “potty” this is a phrase that children use when they are describing the toilet.
So, “I need to go potty” or, “I need to go to the toilet.”
So, here’s an example of how the word “party” is used incorrectly.
“I invited eight people to go to a potty with me.”
When you pronounce the word incorrectly in this sentence,
you’re saying that you invited eight people to go to the bathroom with you.
So, this is a problem. You want to make sure that you say,
“I invited eight people to go to the party with me.”
So, the mispronunciation happens when the “r” out of the “par-tee” is not pronounced.
And it comes out “pot-tee” without the “r” sound.
So, you want to make sure you say “par-tee” not “pot-tee.”
