Hi, my name is Jessica.

I’m an English tutor, and in today’s lesson, we’re going to talk about English slang.

The normal definition of “sweet” is to describe the taste of some type of food or ingredient,

such as sugar, candy, cake, ice cream, etc.

And the word for today is “sweet.” So, this is an adjective that’s used to describe something that is good or nice.

So, let’s go through a scenario of how somebody might use “sweet” in a slang manner.

Let’s say your friend drove up in a brand new sports car. You might say, “Wow, that is a sweet car!”

Okay, so you could also say, “That is a sweet outfit.” Or, “That is a sweet house.”

So it’s to mean it is good or nice, but most of the time when someone explains that something is “sweet,”

it’s generally something like a new car or a new house or something that’s really cool.

Well, I hope this lesson has been helpful for you and it’s cleared up any confusion you may have had

when people used the phrase “sweet” to explain that something seems really cool.

I hope that you have a great rest of the day and that you tune in again for more lessons with Jessica.
